Research summary
A recent breakthrough in the battle against cancer has been the field of immunotherapy: using a patient’s immune system to destroy tumours. Many T cell therapies are created using immune cells from healthy donor blood, this is because our immune system is equipped with a huge number of receptors T cells present on the surface of T cells, and some of these T cells can destroy cancer cells if they are detected in the body. Like many other TCR based companies, our study aims to identify these cancer specific T cell receptors that are present in healthy donor blood. We will then explore the use of these T cells for cancer therapy.
