Research summary
This pilot study is designed to evaluate the potential use of brain network measurements to serve as a surrogate biomarker of cognitive dysfunction in Multiple Sclerosis. This is important to facilitate clinical research for a currently untreatable problem. We plan to model brain networks and gauge their 'Small Worldness' with standard techniques using data from simple standard brainwave (EEG) recordings and compare this to performance on validated cognitive tests. This study involves a single visit, is of minimal burden and uses extremely safe non-invasive assessments.
