Research summary
This study will quantify the extent of usage of "legal high" substances in the inpatient population of Lincolnshire’s Acute Adult Psychiatry Wards. The study will also ascertain factors such as the types of drugs used, the associated costs and perceptions of risks of these substances. It will also use selected questions from the Drug Misuse section of the Government Crime Survey (https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/drug-misuse-findings-from-the-2013-to-2014-csew) to try to identify some personal, household and area characteristics along with lifestyle factors. It will also ask about accessibility of drugs and attitudes towards acceptability and safety of legal high usage, in parallel with the questions asked in the Crime Survey.
