Research summary
Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) affects at least 1 in 10,000 people per year, and results in blindness without surgery. There are three different ways to treat a detached retina surgically. The EYE CHOOSE study is being carried out to assess the clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness and to understand stakeholder views of treatment decisions. This particular workstream will interview patients, surgeons and hospital managers to gain an understanding of how treatment decisions are made.
