Research summary
The study will be performed on women with advanced ovarian carcinoma undergoing cytoreductive surgery. The aim of the study is to determine whether a scan done before surgery called CT done before surgery is accurate to predict the Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Index (PCI). PCI is an index used to calculate the degree of spread of the cancer in 13 areas of the abdomen. The PCI calculated will then be compared to PCI calculated during surgery and their correlation is determined. Therefore, we will be able to explore whether CT PCI can be used to select patients with advanced ovarian cancer to undergo cytoreductive surgery.
A Quality of Life Questionnaire EORTC QLQ-C30 will be requested from all participating patients after cytoreductive surgery and neoadjuvant chemotherapy
