Research summary
This study is to my knowledge one of the few research studies which has sought to explore and investigate the subjective experiences of negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The results obtained from this study have the potential to inform researchers and clinicians as to how an individual understands and copes with their symptoms. Furthermore this study has the opportunity to inform further research into positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia; thus enabling clinicians and carers to have greater insight into the experiences of their patients and/family and friends. \n3. Aims\n•\tExplore experiences of negative symptoms of schizophrenia.\n•\tIdentify how individuals experiencing negative symptoms of schizophrenia cope with these over time.\n•\tExplore factors that may serve to help ameliorate negative symptoms of schizophrenia or help in recovery from negative symptoms of schizophrenia.\n
