  • Research summary

Irritable bowel syndrome is a functional gastrointestinal disease that reduce the quality of life and causes a significant economic burden on community and family through reduced work productivity and time spent for the care and often the management remains unsatisfying. The need to identify effective treatments for irritable bowel syndrome is crucial. The structured education group has been shown to improve the well-being of patients because gives the possibility to self-manage symptoms. Another issue that patients identify is more time efficient. They wouldn’t take more times out to the office for the therapy, an online therapy would allow patients to access information when required, but with the benefits of some structure in the form of the weekly interactive online session. This study will be conducted at University College London Hospitals. Will be enrolling approximately 60 patients with diagnosis of mild or moderate Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
