  • Research summary

In this study we will use hair follicles and/or blood donated by individuals with autism and healthy volunteers, to develop laboratory models for the study of neurons. We will generate stem cells from the hair follicles and/or blood. We will then differentiate them into neurons to mimic human brain development. It is hoped that these studies will help us understand how neurons develop and why they develop differentially in neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism.
