Research summary
The STATUS QUO study, is a survey, observing patients consulting in general practice and completing an automated check-in screen prior to their booked appointment, to confirm their attendance. Participants will be recruited over three weeks from approximately 7 participating general practices, approximately n=1,372 per participating practice (depending on practice list size and number of consulting clinicians during recruitment period).\n\nThe primary objective of the study is to examine general practice identification and recording of carers. The survey will examine the number of patients identifying themselves as carers and providing brief research information on the support they receive as a carer, whilst self-completing an automated check-in screen prior to any general practice consultation.\n\nSecondary objectives will examine completion rates of the additional research question(s) and demographic variances in completion responses.
