Research summary
The study aimed to gauge the perceptions of acute mental health staff nurses on the impact of Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) skills training on their practice when working with borderline personality disorder. The sample would be small with an estimate of between 10-15 staff nurses as potential participants, with data collected through the use of focus groups. All potential participants were working across 4 acute wards within 1 hospital, would have had MBT skills training in 2013, and be current staff nurses in acute mental health.
