Research summary
The study aims to develop a sensitive tool to assess adolescents with allergies readiness for transition to adult services. Paediatric allergy specialists, adolescents with allergies, parents with adolescents with allergies and UK Allergy Charities will be asked what questions they feel should be included in the questionnaire and will be asked to place the questions in perceived order of importance. From this data and after a literature review of the phenomena a questionnaire will be devised and initially trialled on 5 adolescents with allergies. Appropriate amendments will then be made to the questionnaire before piloting the tool on adolescents attending the Allergy Unit within an eight week period.
