Research summary
We are conducting a prospective study to evaluate the impact of the Ostique Onovus Solo (a one piece ostomy device) on the short-term, health-related quality of life of ostomy patients. Ostique's Onovus Solo utilises improved skin attachments to reduce leakage and skin complications; improved deodorisation and ventilation to reduce ballooning and odours ; and customisable covers (‘Sk.ns’) (pronounced “skins”) with a range of skin tone colour matching options and/ or artwork to improve users confidence, body image and quality of life. Qualitative analysis through the use of patient surveys and assessment methods, will determine to what extent, if any, the Onovus Solo affects the health-related quality of life of the user.
