Research summary
We want to establish broad outcomes (medical, health, and social such as education, occupation) for adolescents and young adults who have established renal failure (requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant), compared to controls. This will enable us to truly answer the question of 'How will having young onset renal failure affect my adult life?', which will help guide service planning for the future, identify high risk groups for intervention and define outcomes for this population in the UK.
