  • Research summary

This study is a Pseudo Randomised Controlled Trial which aims to assess the effectiveness of automated prompts from GP IT systems to staff as a means of increasing uptake of NHS Health Checks. The prompts will be designed to encourage staff to offer eligible patients an appointment for an NHS Health Check during the staff-patient interaction. Further, this trial aims to test whether there are differing effects when these prompts are delivered to different types of staff – receptionist vs clinical staff – and thus patients are offered a Health Check from different messengers.
