Research summary
The aim of this study is to understand the role of two key neurotransmitters in decision-making. Participants will receive one of two drugs, alongside placebo, that influence either serotonin function or a combination of serotonin and noradrenaline function. They will then complete a variety of psychological tasks designed to assess how they make decisions, while having brain activity recorded using electroencephalography (EEG). This research will provide insights into how our ability to make decisions depends upon these key neurotransmitters.
