Research summary
Borderline personality disorder is a common psychiatric disorder affecting around 3% of the general population. Many aspects of the disorder improve with treatment but sometimes those improvements can be difficult to measure because as people get better they become more aware of their emotions. In a previous study we found some specific impairments associated with borderline personality disorder which we believe may improve following treatment. In our current study we intend to explore the impact of treatment on social behavior in a group context using a hypothetical public goods game.
