Research summary
The main aim of this study is to determine whether non-invasive physiological markers of tissue integrity and microcirculation, specifically skin impedance, blood perfusion, and tissue oxygenation are associated with pressure ulcer healing trajectories in people living with spinal cord injury. We will also investigate whether these physiological markers are altered by high voltage, monophasic pulsed current (HVMPC) electrical stimulation. Finally, we will investigate the effect of optimised HVMPC stimulation in people with a current pressure ulcer.
