Research summary
Recent research suggests that psoriasis may have a negative impact on sleep. The purpose of this study is to investigate cognitive factors associated with poor sleep in people with psoriasis through semi-structured interviews.
Purposive sampling will be used to recruit participants and participants selected for the study will undergo semi-structured interviews. These interviews will explore the participant's beliefs about their sleep disruption and psoriasis and identify cognitive factors associated with the maintenance of their sleep problem.
This study is part of a PhD investigating sleep within psoriasis with the view to evaluating and quantifying sleep disruption in psoriasis, establish the context of sleep problems and with a view to evaluate potential psoriasis-related sleep disruption interventions such as CBT.
