Samples obtained by the Tissue Bank will be stored in locations approved by the Designated Individual, these are specific areas within the Level 7, Wellcome Trust Brenner Building, St James' University Hospital, The Unviersity of Leeds. The area approved is room 7.07b.

The Bank supports, and will continue to support, research in both Dentistry and Medicine, enabling researchers (both clinicians and biomedical scientists) to access tissues from which adult stem cells may be collected for use in tissue engineering research to develop methods for generating new tissues for clinical repair and replacement. The hard parts of the tooth samples are used in research into dental decay and in seeking to develop new ways of treating dental disease.
