  • Research summary

A significant number of young people experience complex psychological difficulties that impact on their ability to lead the life they would like to. Many of these young people find it hard to engage in activities that are meaningful to them, such as education, employment, voluntary work or leisure and sport activities and have experienced social difficulties since childhood and early adolescence.

The purpose of this study is to ask young people who took part in the PRODIGY trial about their school experiences. We aim to look at the relationship between time at school and later mental health and social outcomes for these young people. We hope to better understand the impact of school experiences on later outcomes for young people experiencing social disability and emerging complex psychological difficulties.

    Design

Participants who have completed participation in PRODIGY (i.e. 24 month follow-up) will be invited to take part in a qualitative interview regarding their school experiences.
