Research summary
Healthcare is going through a system transition towards an increasingly remote and at-home care setting. The exponential increase in at-home testing capabilities by digital and physical means holds promise to help people live healthier lives and remain at-home for longer whilst simultaneously relieving mounting pressures on healthcare systems caused by increasing cost and shortages of staff. Undoubtedly, there is a unique opportunity to generate objective insights into health and disease using these at-home tools. The current paradigm of developing and evaluating diagnostic tests however means this potential remains largely untapped.
This study will evaluate a novel paradigm of diagnostics development by deploying the diagnostics innovation engine built by Sanome in the development of an combination biomarker test for triage of acute breathlessness.
