Research summary
A qualitative questionnaire will be administered to parents/carers of preschool children aged under 5 years of age with a diagnosis of Autism. This will help in determining the sensory difficulties in children and how it affects the families. The questionnaire will find out from parents as to what services they would like for children with sensory difficulties. These can be presented to the commissioners so that appropriate services can be looked into to help families and children. In addition, the analysis from this feasibility study will provide an insight into the numbers of new patients of children diagnosed with Autism, how many are seen within the Trust and care pathways and the proportion who responded to this study.
