Research summary
SENIOR transplant Registry is a 10 year observational European transplant registry.
Elderly patients (above or equal to the age of 65 years) after kidney transplantation that receive a combination of different drugs, which suppress the reaction of the immune system against the new kidney, will be observed. These drugs are called “immunosuppressive” drugs. The observed drug combination is considered to be standard therapy for the average transplant recipient by the leading transplantation societies (groups of experts in transplantation medicine).
It is planned to collect data on health, on kidney function, medication, quality of life and on blood and urine specimens before transplantation, 3 months after transplantation and annually for the next 10 years. All in all, data will be obtained at 12 visits (time points). Except for quality of life questionnaires there are no study specific procedures planned. Only data will be recorded which anyway will be recorded in clinical routine.REC name
