Research summary
To study whether a closely matched implant curve measurement and equivalent skin curve measurement (nipple to inframammary fold distance) is important in cosmetic outcome and patient satisfaction following mastectomy and immediate implant reconstruction. If a strong correlation is found, the skin curve measurement can be used to guide implant selection. This would also provide evidence that implant manufacturers should provide implant curve measurements in addition to the standard measures of base width and projection.
