  • Research summary

There is increasing amount of new information that suggests that problems in the lining of the womb cause miscarriage. Other new studies suggest that just scratching the lining of the womb improve the chance of invitro fertilization (IVF) being successful and leading to a live birth. We want to find out whether scratching the lining of the womb prevents recurrent miscarriage. In order to find out we plan to do a trial in women with repeated miscarriages where half the women have a scratch and half do not. We will see which group are most likely to have a live birth.
