Research summary
This study will quantify both urban and rural cardiac arrest outcomes in the North East of England from April 2018-April 2019, and it will explore the differences in cardiac arrest clinical performance and treatment in these areas. This research project will use an official informatics request to North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation trust for anonymous, retrospective and non-identifiable cardiac arrest data from April 2018- April 2019. This data will then be categorised into rural and urban areas using the official UK government urban and rural mapping data. This mapping data is publicly available online. The data will be grouped, analysed and presented into the short report format for publication to the British Paramedic Journal. I will also use https://www.doogal.co.uk/ to use batch geocoding to help with the plotting of map data.
