  • Research summary

The incremental shuttle walk test (ISWT) is recognised as a valid and reliable test in evaluating individuals’ functional exercise capacity and survival rates in patients with COPD (Win et al 2005). This study aims to establish if the ISWT can be utilised as a risk stratification and an independent prognostic factor in patients undergoing lung resection for lung cancer. The study also aims to assess the ISWT ability to predict post-operative pulmonary complications and to determine a link with quality of life scores.
