Research summary
In clinical practice we observed that patients presenting with acute stress induced (Tako-tsubo) cardiomyopathy (TTC) have a higher incidence of mental health conditions. In this study we wish to recall all the individuals previously diagnosed with TTC in Aberdeen from 2011 when we initiated this research, in order to examine:
1. If individuals diagnosed with Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy will have a greater likelihood of having a previous psychiatric history compared with age and sex matched individuals diagnosed with a myocardial infarction
2. If individuals diagnosed with Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy demonstrate anxiety traits to a greater extent compared with age and sex matched individuals diagnosed with a myocardial infarction.REC name
