Data: Data collected will be data already held at OCL Vision Clinic as part of the patients'medical records regarding the cataract or refractive procedure the patient has undergone. No additional data will be collected. All data collected for the database is data already routinely collected at OCL Vision Clinic as
per their routine procedures.Data collected will include Patient Number, Year of Birth, and medical information on the surgical procedure performed at OCL Vision Clinic. This includes pre-operative data, surgical data and postoperative data. Patients' name will not be included in the Database.
Research programme
This database will allow to collect information on cataract & refractive procedures done according to normal routine at OCL Vision Clinic. Potential benefits of collecting this data include: - Increasing knowledge on cataract and refractive surgery outcomes in routine practice - As this database will include a large number of patients over a period of time, it is particluarly interesting for the evaluation of less common adverse events and complications. It is also of interest for the evaluation of longer term outcomes. - Increased knowledge for ophthalmic surgeons, as the outcomes will be shared via scientific publications and presentations at meetings. - Ultimately, this will provide improved routine care for future patients
