Research summary
Respiratory Analytics will conduct an usability study facilitated by Aberfoyle Medical Practice, Strand Rd, Derry, Northern Ireland to assess the functionality of the aflo™ respiratory management platform (device-App syncing, data transfer, device battery life, real time feedback, hyper-personalised data aggregation) in supporting patients with asthma and COPD. The study will recruit 30 patients with asthma or COPD, who use MDIs, with uncontrolled symptoms. The data collected will be used to determine whether the aflo™ platform improves inhalation technique and user adherence to prescribed medication. During the study clinicians will be able to remotely monitor and review user analytics via a clinical dashboard. Asthma control test (ACT) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT) measurements will be recorded at start and end of study.
