Data collection arrangements
ResearchOne stores de-identified data from electronic health records used by NHS organisations across England. Each of these organisations has decided to participate in the project. The database contains information on diagnoses, medication, immunisations, clinical tests and laboratory results, for example. The data is collected routinely, as part of usual clinical practice. No individual person can be identified from the data stored.
Research programme
The database aims to support research that aligns with the national research strategy and is clearly for public benefit. It supports clinical research teams across a broad range of disease areas, including cancer, dementia, elderly care, cardiology and diabetes. Research is supported within a number of different institutions and is often performed collaboratively between universities, NHS organisations, government bodies and industry.
