Research summary
This is an observational study comparing the diagnosis of respiratory illnesses using cough sound analytic algorithms from the ResAppDx-EU v2.0 to a clinical diagnosis (non-standard reference test), in paediatric patients.
The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) To compare diagnosis of childhood respiratory illnesses using the ResAppDx-EU v2.0 ID software to a clinical diagnosis determined by a clinical adjudication committee in a blinded setting in the UK; and (2) To establish a baseline for the costs and time scales of the current clinical care pathways for respiratory disease diagnosis in an emergency department.
