Research summary
We are interested in determining which children are most likely to have an unplanned reattendance when discharged from the paediatric emergency department. To do this we will use routinely collected patient data to build a predictive model, using both statistical and machine learning techniques. By understanding which groups of children are at the greatest risk of unexpectedly returning, we hope to subsequently design interventions to streamline and improve their emergency care.
