Data collection arrangements
Consented DNA, blood, serum, plasma and urine samples and phenotype and genotype data are being stored in Scottish university laboratories. Some further samples and data from a subset of the original cohort have been added from the STRADL study. The samples are stored in University laboratories in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen. Study data is held securely in University of Edinburgh Medical School datastore at the IGMM.
Research programme
The resources are available to academic researchers and commercial organisations internationally for answering relevant research questions subject to the governance of the Generation Scotland Access Committee. Over 300 collaboration proposals have been received, resulting in over 300 scientific publications with many more under way.
