Data collection arrangements
Consented DNA, saliva, blood, serum, plasma and urine samples and phenotype and genotype data are stored in Scottish university laboratories. Some further samples and data from a subset of the original cohort have been added from the STRADL sub-study. The samples are stored in University laboratories in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen (Dundee and Aberdeen, and are registered with the Tayside Bioreposiitory). Study data is held securely in University of Edinburgh Medical School datastore at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer.
Research programme
The resources are available to approved academic researchers and commercial organisations internationally for answering relevant research questions that are for the benefit of the public, subject to the governance and approval of the Generation Scotland Access Committee. Collaborations are currently ongoing or completed with over 75 academic institutions and 10 commercial organisations. The number of collaborations approved now exceeds 321, with participation in over 396 published papers.
