Research summary
In current studies, grip strength has been found to be a good indicator of global wellbeing (Musalek and Kirchengast, 2017)and as one study has shown there is correlation with shoulder strength(Horsley et al., 2016).Research would be focused on atraumatic shoulder instability patients. Previous studies have identified a knowledge gap within this area. This study aims to answer the question ‘Does grip strength correlate with general upper limb strength in patients with shoulder instability.’ Studies will involve use of grip and arm/shoulder dynamometers.
