  • Research summary

The study would examine psychological factors, including; attachment, reflective function and autobiographical memories in relation to distress experienced by individuals who met the diagnostic criteria for cluster C personality disorders. The study aimed to explore the relationship between psychological factors which had been linked with other personality disorders. A case series design would be used. This would provide an opportunity to explore individual participant data, heterogeneity, individual differences and might provide valuable insight into whether findings were consistent with different theoretical perspectives. The sample would be individuals with personality difficulties presenting to Community Mental Health Team clinicians working within adult mental health services in NHS Grampian.
