  • Research summary

This project seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the advantages of VR immersive therapy while offering structured guidance for its safe and effective integration into inpatient mental health settings. VR technology can be applied across a range of therapeutic interventions, including exposure therapy, relaxation and stress reduction techniques, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, social skills training, and reminiscence therapy for individuals with cognitive impairments. By leveraging the immersive and interactive nature of VR, mental health practitioners can create controlled, customizable, and engaging therapeutic environments that support emotional regulation, behavioural modification, and overall mental well-being.
