Research summary
We would like to test if a shop-bought stereo headset which uses vibration of sound through bone rather than through the air can be used to help adults with hearing loss. Normally NHS hearing aids are adjusted to be person specific for sound and fit. This device will be the same for all patients so we would like to test if the device can work for patients with a range of hearing loss types and severity. We want to know how loud the device will have to be to achieve this, but also whether patients are happy with the appearance and fit of the device.
