Research summary
This feasibility study is an Open Label, Non-Randomized, Non-Comparative, Open Registry Study designed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of using the REX Robot in rehabilitation for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) who have moderate to severe mobility restriction.
This feasibility study will only include a small group of 10 patients aged between 18 and 90 years. These patients will have primary diagnosis of MS, with an EDSS score of between 6 and 7.5.
Following the provision of informed consent and screening by a medical professional, eligible participants will undertake a baseline assessments of Health Reported Quality of Life (HRQoL)/participation, function, and impairment using standardised outcome measures. They will then participate in a six-week rehabilitation intervention, with a once week REX Robot assisted physiotherapy exercise programme under the supervision of a trained neuro physiotherapist. The aim of the programme is to increase strength, improve balance related skills and walking ability.
