Research summary
Patient's presenting with tooth wear is common. Composite build ups are a recognised technique for restoring these patient's oral function and aesthetics and something which is routinely carried out in Dentistry. However there are a no studies to indicate the effect composite build ups have on the quality of a patient's life in the United Kingdom. In this study patient's who are seen at consultation and diagnoses with moderate or severe tooth wear which is suitable to be treated with composite build ups by staff at Liverpool University Dental Hospital will be asked to fill in an Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) questionnaire before their treatment appointment in the waiting room and then 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year via email or post if the patient doesn't have access to email.
