• Data collection arrangements

  Core Registry Data:
  1. Patient demographics
  a. Surname, given names, Age, gender, ethnicity, height, weight, comorbidities, NHS number, contact details and GP details.
  2. Clinical Observations
  a. Blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturations
  3. Clinical Investigations
  a. Electrocardiogram
  b. Cardiovascular imaging such as echocardiography, CT, coronary angiography and cardiac MRI reports
  c. Laboratory results such as full blood count, renal function and biomarkers (i.e. there will be no additional requirement for blood drawing and no storage of blood for testing at a later date).
  4. Pre-diagnosis Pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment
  5. Health-related quality of life information
  6. Clinical visits and changes in management (pharmacological and non-pharmacological).
  7. Outcomes data on hospitalizations and mortality
  8. Relevant clinical information held within national databases and registries, including data managed by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (NHS Digital) and the Office for National Statistics.

  Data Entry Schedule
  Data will be entered into the registry at baseline and every 6 months

• Research programme

  Data will be collected at participating NHS centres in secondary or primary care, from consecutive patients with newly diagnosed Heart Failure, during the normal course of healthcare provision. Patients will be resident in the United Kingdom.
