  • Research summary

Interstitial lung disease is a growing area within respiratory medicine. There are a growing number of treatment options available, however these can have significant side effects and complications. Our ability to predict patient response to treatment and disease course is limited. Longitudinal data correlating physiological outcomes with both response to treatment and mortality are lacking in this area.
This project will make use of pulmonary physiology results from patients collected since 2007, along with their diagnosis and clinical outcomes to add to the field of knowledge, and seek to develop our understanding of the role of these investigations in predicting response to treatment and clinical outcomes. This will improve our ability to enable patients to make informed decisions regarding treatments.
