Research summary
This module will be used to gather specific information about patients diagnosed with a primary spinal column tumor. Primary tumors of the spine are a rare condition; therefore, gathering sufficient evidence to draw meaningful conclusions about appropriate treatment strategies is challenging. Cooperation with other spine oncology centers with a network infrastructure must be established to overcome this issue. A case series design will allow for larger volumes of data to be gathered and analyzed.
Clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic data specific for primary spinal column tumor patients will be collected and
evaluated to investigate the prognostic factors which influence survival, local recurrence, adverse events, perioperative
morbidity, and HRQOL in subgroups of patients diagnosed with primary spinal column tumors.
This multicenter prospective case-series is sponsored by AOSpine International, and involves clinics all over the world.
AOSpine is an international community of spine surgeons generating, distributing, and exchanging knowledge to advance science and the spine care profession through research, education, and community development. With this collaborative approach AOSpine continues to advance spine care worldwide.REC name
