Research summary
This research is being conducted to improve the way that medication for mental health is used for people with intellectual disability. We are interested in the experiences and ideas of people with intellectual disability, family carers, and paid (staff) carers. We want to explore how people in these groups have been involved in decisions about medication and what could be done to improve their involvement and ensure that their voice is heard. We are interested in hearing from doctors who prescribe medication for mental health as we want to understand some of the difficulties and potential solutions for improving prescribing of these medicines.
We also wish to seek the views of stakeholders on the design and content of an online tool for medication review known as the 'HealthTracker'.
