Research summary
There is need for more research on the psychosocial functioning of young adults with narcolepsy. This study aims investigate the psychosocial outcomes, illness representations and coping strategies used by young adults with narcolepsy.
Participants 16-25 years old will be recruited from paediatric and transitional Narcolepsy centres such as The Evelina Children’s Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital in London. They will also be recruited via narcolepsy charities (such as Narcolepsy UK) and social media.
Participants will be asked to complete online questionnaires about their condition, the way they think about and cope with narcolepsy, and finally their psychosocial wellbeing.
Recruitment will be open for approximately a year.REC name
