Research summary
The research intends to capture the individual experiences of adults who have undergone either a heart or lung transplant. Interviews will establish: what the informational and support needs of transplant patients are, how their expectations mirrored the reality of surgery and post transplant transition and how they feel they could have been better assisted in adjusting to and coping with their transplant. Results would provoke discussion around how transplant units and clinical psychologists may adapt their roles and services to best meet the support needs of future patients.
