Research summary
The quality of sleep can be affected by a diagnosis of cancer and its treatment. Hormonal treatment for prostate cancer can cause fatigue but little is known about its effect on sleep quality, and this may vary according to different treatments administered. Sleep hygiene can directly affect a patient's quality of life, and a better understanding may allow for earlier therapeutic intervention in order to improve cancer survivorship for the patient and also has implications for their sleeping partners. This study aims to discern the effect of not only what a diagnosis of prostate cancer has on sleep quality , but also the effect that hormonal treatment has on sleep hygiene both subjectively by using a validated questionnaire and objectively by using actigraphy,
