  This retrospective observational study will contribute to new knowledge by providing an up to date prognostication index of burn injuries. Current prognostication scores for burn survival is inadequate, given the advances in burn care over the past five decades. Furthermore, the relationship between the role of patient co-morbidities and haematological trends have not been studied and incorporated collective into prognostic or mortality scores.
