  • Research summary

There is a classification in place currently for arthritis in children called the ILAR (International League Against Rheumatism) classification which contains seven different categories. Recent evidence suggests that there is a need for better criteria for the categorisation of this disease. In response to this PRINTO (Pediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organization) has proposed new consensus classification criteria.

The current project’s aim is to test the new proposed classification in a collection of at least 1,000 patients (across participating European countries) at disease onset. Then a final consensus conference will be organised to analyse the collected data and formulate the final JIA classification.
